The benefits of soft furnishings in summer
Recently dark clouds have been removed from our sky and we have been graced with presence of the sun. Sunshine has an extremely positive effect on everybody, people are constantly smiling. A new energy is created as we find ourselves immersed with new life and energy all around us.
As the weather recently has been so fantastic it has enabled me to view my home spaces in a light.
After an initial clichéd spring clean my house has a fresh new atmosphere. I have started appreciating that small details can really polish off a rooms overall appearance. I found myself buying a few vases and soft furnishings to compliment my elegant designer furniture. Lately I have been placing a lot flowers around the house to inject the feeling of life.

My kitchen has come alive in the sun and now the French windows are wide open, the smell of freshly cut grass is in the air and my cat is basking in the sun just inside the kitchen on my lovely stone floor.
My beautifully painted designer furniture for the kitchen now looks fresher than ever, standing proudly in the sun resplendent in an elegant white paint finish.
After thoroughly cleaning my kitchen it now appears, (well at least in my mindset) to almost be a lifestyle shot from a trendy magazine or Sunday supplement. The only thing is that my fruit bowl doesn’t remain elegantly poised as if it was situated in an artist’s atelier and my flowers sometimes get a little droopy before I change them.
As summer is just around the corner I decided to purchases some curtains made from a lighter material as my current curtains currently are a bit heavy and keep the heat in, and I wish to have a lighter kitchen atmosphere.
I also had some Soft furnishings made for me by my mother to go onto my patio.
My favourite items were some custom made cushions made from a piece of material I purchased in Thailand. These cushions are wonderfully displayed on my sofa in the conservatory and I think that the correct selection of personalised soft furnishings can help to transform areas that are subject to change with the seasons.
The areas that use increasingly in the summer are fairly standard such as my kitchen with the French windows open, my patio and my conservatory.
The inclusion of small items and ornaments can really benefit the area during the summer months. The fresh flowers are one of my favourite items in the house, and I know I want to constantly be surrounded by life.
The soft furnishings such as my cushions and curtains are small additions that effect the ambiance of the room. New soft furnishings can really benefit you not just from an aesthetic value but also on a practical level.m I know that I will also use my cushions outside on the lawn and on my patio bench.
